over the last 2 weeks, i've noticed a tightness the inner part of my lower left leg, just above the achilles, but below the main calf muscle. during my 3 mile run last night, i felt really good. when i started to cool down and walk, it was tight and had some pain. i have a feeling this may be something that could derail some training....especially since that most mornings lately, it has been very tight and i have to limp downstairs until it's somewhat stretched out. we shall see what happens.
training update: currently on wk 4
Sun - rest
Mon - 3 mil
Tue - cardio class
Wed - 4 mil
Thur - cardio class, 3 mil
Fri - supposed to rest today, but i'm probably going to do weight training
Sat - 9 mil anticipated
there is a 100% chance of rain today, so it could be a long dreaded treadmill run tomorrow morning..... but i feel it has to be done.
i was a little proud of myself last saturday during my 5 mile projected run, i decided to run the full 6 (memorial park is a 3 miles in diameter). it isn't much, but knowing me, i always try to find shortcuts or excuses to an easier training. mentally, i felt really good after the run, which is an indication that old Hal knows what he's talking about. this weekend will be my longest run so far in training, and i will check how my leg feels after that. i sincerely hope it isn't a slight fracture (which was my wife's nutty idea).....
